Traditionally in orthodontics, the only way to make retainers was to start with a dental impression (yes, that goopy stuff that ran down your throat) which was then used to make a plaster model.  This method was time consuming, uncomfortable, and fairly inaccurate. Hence, the introduction of 3D scanning and printing.

With the use of 3D technolory, the world of 3D printing has grown tremendously including within dentistry and orthodontics. Now, we take a 3D scan of your teeth using our intraoral scanner (essentially a small camera with amazing software) to capture your teeth and bite. It takes less than 5 minutes and is extremely accurate. That digital file is then sent to one of our in office 3D printers, and voila, within and hour or so, we have a perfectly accurate version of your teeth and bite which can be used to fabricate retainers or aligners.

Using our own 3D printing capabilities, we are able to eliminate extra steps and can create your retainers and aligners right here in our office, enabling you to begin treatment sooner and saving you a considerable amount of time waiting for new aligners during your treatment or retainers when you're finished.

3D printing is just one of the ways we are dedicated to improving your overall orthodontic experience. Through advanced technology and our expertise, you can achieve the smile you’ve always wanted — faster and more cost effectively than ever - and keep it for a Lifetime!
